11 Mississippi

Laurel, Mississippi is a town where many Mexican immigrants have arrived to work in poultry plants over the last decade. Relations are often tense between new immigrants and African Americans, who also work in the plants. Pictured: A cook at La Veracruzana market and restaurant, named after the home state of many immigrants.
