29 Laurel, Mississippi
Laurel, Mississippi is a town where many Mexican immigrants have arrived to work in poultry plants over the last decade. Relations are often tense between new immigrants and African Americans, who also work in the plants. Pictured: The hands of Jerry Ball, an African American poultry plant worker, show the many years of work on the lines at Pico Foods.
