13 Laurel, Mississippi
Laurel, Mississippi is a town where many Mexican immigrants have arrived to work in poultry plants over the last decade. Relations are often tense between new immigrants and African Americans, who also work in the plants. Pictured: Frank Curiel (r), an organizer for the Laborers Union and the Mississippi Immigrant Rights Alliance, talks with Samuel Holguin, owner of the La Veracruzana market..
