04 Janitor on strike
A striker pickets an office building she cleans in downtown Oakland. SEIU Local 1877 was the first janitors union to strike in the late-1990s to force employers to agree to a common expiration date for janitorial workers across the country, a key step to eventually winning a national master agreement.
