Banana Workers

20 Diamond Farms, Mindanao
The family of Felix Bacalso, who has worked for 8 years as a harvester at the Diamond Farms banana plantation, lives in a 2-room home on the plantation. The plantation was created by Stanfilco, the Philippine subsidiary of Dole Corporation, and was taken over by workers under the land reform law. After Dole refused to raise prices, the workers went on strike.
