97 Iraqi Unionists
Kefla Talib, the head of the union at the Iraqi Drilling Company, speaks at a conference in Basra organized by the GUOE to oppose privatization. He explains that workers were able to rebuild all the drilling rigs now operating in the Rumeila fields without foreign companies, and says that privatization is unnecessary as a means of gaining resources for rebuilding the rest of the industry.
