Carlos Martinez and his son Cuauhtemoc, Triqui immigrants from Oaxaca, Mexico, sit on the couch in the living room of their small house in Lamont. Carlos is a farm worker, and has lived in the US since the early 1990s. Cuauhtemoc, didn't know how to read and write when he arrived at 11 years old, now studies calculus, speaks French, English, Spanish and Triqui, and wants to become an astronomer.
