People March Against the Iraq War

Marchers in Hollywood opposing the U.S. war in Iraq line up flag draped coffins in the street to symbolize the soldiers killed. Thousands of people in San Francisco marched against the war in Iraq. Bay Area longshore workers and their drill team led hundreds of marchers down the San Francisco Embarcadero to protest the war, and refused to work on May Day.

Michael Moore Calls for Single Payer Health Care

Filmmaker Michael Moore came to Sacramento, the California state capitol, to show a sneak preview of his film Sicko, and advocate for single payer health care reform. He was invited by the California Nurses Association, which has been campaiging for single payer for years.
