12 Triqui Dancers and Musicians
Indigenous Triqui women and children dance to traditional music from their communities in Oaxaca, at a celebration in the Greenfield Public Library. Over 1000 Triquis live in Greenfield, one of the main centers of their community in the U.S. Women wear a traditional huipil, a hand-woven garment. Triquis are one of the many indigenous groups of southern Mexico, and many people have migrated from their hometowns to California to work in the fields as farm workers.
