Oaxaca On the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), Oaxacans build altars to the dead, and dress as skeletons in costumes. An altar remembers the murdered women of Ciudad Juarez. A large percentage of the residents of Oaxaca have left to work in the United States, where the same celebrations take place in Mexican barrios. |
