10 Kaan Ural
Kaan Ural, a Turkish immigrant and union activist, talks to truck drivers as they wait to pick up a load in the Los Angeles, harbor. Harbor drivers eventually went on strike, shutting down shipping, in an effort to get big shipping companies to recognize their union. Workers were denied the right to organize legally because the company employed them as independent contracfors, rather than wage-earning employees.
