08 Organizing asbestos workers
Immigrant workers who strip asbestos insulation from older buildings, march through the Northridge, Los Angeles campus of the California State University, protesting efforts by contractors to keep them from organizing a union, and dangerous conditions on the job. Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance, and workers were concerned that safety measures on their job were inadequate.
