69 HERE Local 2 - Hotel Workers Fight for Their Union
5/3/05 -- Hotel workers and supporters demonstrate against the Hilton Hotel, one of fourteen San Francisco Class A hotels which are demanding increased health care payments, and offering inadequate raises in stalled union contract negotiations. The union also wants an expiration date for their contract in 2006, which would allow the union to negotiate simultaneously in major US cities. Forty workers and supporters sit in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, in an act of civil disobedience which led to their arrest.
