14 HERE Local 2 - Hotel Workers Fight for Their Union
Mike Casey, president of HERE Local 2, gets arrested in front of the St. Francis Hotel on Labor Day in San Francisco, as the union begins negotiating a new contract with the city's Class A hotels. The union is asking that the new contract expire in 2006, at the same time as contracts in other cities, so that eventually it can negotiate nationally with the big hotel chains.
