08 Tucson Immigrant Rights Protest
Immigrants and their supporters, organized by Derechos Humanos, demonstrate outside the Tucson Barnes and Noble store after the store invited Phoenix Sheriff Joe Arpaio to speak and sign books. Arpaio is well-known in Arizona for advocating extreme anti-immigrant measures and using deputies to pick up undocumented people for deportation. After a protestor attempts to ask a question to Arpaio, one of the sheriff's deputies acting as a personal bodyguard throws her out of the bookstore.
