6. Mission church
Caborca, Sonora (10/24/01)
The front of the mission church in Caborca, built by Padre Kino. The bullet holes are still visible from the attempt by William Henry Crabb to take Caborca and northern Sonora from Mexico in the 1850s. The town's residents took shelter in the church, defeated Crabb, chopped his head off, and displayed it in the church tower.
