39 Mixtec Families in Taft
A community of a few hundred migrant indigenous Mixtec farm workers from Oaxaca live in Taft, which was an oil boom town years ago at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. Almost all the migrants come from the town of San Pablo Tijaltepec. Most live in a rundown group of apartment houses on the edge of the town by the highway
