31 Mixtec Families in Taft
A community of a few hundred migrant indigenous Mixtec farm workers from Oaxaca live in Taft, which was an oil boom town years ago at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. Almost all the migrants come from the town of San Pablo Tijaltepec. PIctured: Francisco Santiago Bautista, dressed in the embroidered blouse that is the unique style of her hometown.
