Every Worker an Organizer

15 Pete Velasco
Delano
Pete Velasco, a Filipino immigrant and grape striker, was UFW secretary-treasurer for over a decade. After the first UFW grape strike began in 1965, Velasco stood in front of supermarkets for years talking to consumers about the strike and boycott, and became a community institution in the Bay Area.
