06 Artisans of Oaxaca
An indigenous Amuzgo woman embroiders a blouse in San Pedro Amuzgos, the main center for embroidery in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, one of the poorest areas in Mexico. The women have set up a cooperative of embroiderers here. Indigenous Amuzgo, Mixtec, Triqui and other groups from this region now make up a large percentage of the migrants who have left to work in the United States.
